They would just quietly let slip into history. Kinda like how the Beatles never officially broke up, they just worked on solo projects.
now it doesn't matter to fanboys anymore, because it's been taken off the NPD listings. To those people, NPD numbers is the only thing that matters.
"...install base of both systems getting closer". Why not double your potential sales (more like add 50% more sales based on FF XIII data)? It's not about putting it on the system that can sell more copies than the other, it's about selling more copies, period.
"The business of business is business."
FF XIII proved that they didn't sacrifice the game to make it multi-platform, so Playstation owners won't lose anything, but XBox owners get one more game.
It was obviously a "check all that apply" survey. 65% of respondents put blu-ray as ONE of their reasons, that doesn't mean it was people's primary reason.
If you just want a blu-ray player, you can get those for less than half the price.
I think that grenade throwing bit was just a case of the people making the commercial not knowing their stuff. It was probably an actor mimicking the actions on screen. The Navigator does not (that we yet know of) have any motion sensing capability.
Zipper have said that they are looking at other ways to use Move besides aiming (including grenade tossing), so maybe they will figure something out, but i think i would prefer an on-screen trajectory indicator so i can more pre...
Could have just been a tech demo, too. I DO expect FPS's to use Move and look forward to seeing how well it works, but this headline, IMO, is bad journalism because that's just not what was said. Precision is very important if you want to be in the business of spreading truth.
Realistically speaking, Sony will not patch many old games to use Move, they will just implement Move into the sequels so that we buy something new. The crux of your argument is right, though, in that Move can be implemented very easily into any game, while Natal, because of the processing power required, has to make special situations or games to implement it.
Natal will be really cool for mini-games (imagine playing the hacking mini-game from Bioshock by actually "gra...
oops, sorry.
The things I have seen put Natal's lag at 100 ms or more, but that is total lag (including game lag), whereas this 22 ms is controller lag. The best latency possible in games is 66.6ms for a 60Hz framerate, or about 100ms for a 30Hz framerate, with some games going as high as 150 or even in the 180's (GTA IV). If Natal does stay at 100 ms of lag, it puts it at a pretty standard amount of lag. Keep in mind, though, that everything that has been seen is for Ricochet, a pretty simple ...
I like the XMB as it is, but that could be pretty cool. Especially if it used Move to navigate. For example, use two Move controllers as a multi-touch interface, or just use one to reach into the screen, grab options by squeezing the T trigger, and pull them toward you to zoom in on them.
It sounds to me like they're working with Microsoft by "sharing data" to test Natal and compare it to what other "full" motion capture systems can do, not helping to develop it. If that is indeed the case, they don't have any stake in Natal's success.
You've never seen articles defending the subscription fees for XBox Live?

But you can get through it okay if you're careful and pay attention. Messages left by other players can be extremely helpful, too. I actually beat the Armor Spider on my first try thanks to a message that said "sniper's perch".
I've never played it a lot, but I remember that it was quite an accomplishment for me to occasionally get to the third screen.
Most games are like Kindergarten teachers. They hold your hand and show you what to do and how to do it.
Demon's Souls is like a drill instructor. It lets you make your own mistakes, then it punishes you for them, but is never unfair.
Kindergarten prepares you for first grade.
Boot Camp prepares you for combat.
...and his response was something like "I can't talk about that yet." That makes me think they have something specific planned. Hopefully they'll reveal it at E3.
I'll corroborate that. Sony has said that they are dedicated to keeping online play free. Not only that, but if they started charging for online play, they could face a class action lawsuit from people who bought games like Warhawk with the understanding that they wouldn't have to pay any more to play it. I just bought Demon's Souls and would be upset if the online components got taken out from under me, but I don't play games online enough to pay for it.
Sony is going to hype this up because they got something new and big. Microsoft is going to not call attention to the fact that they lost something.
I might stand corrected, but we will never know for sure why the content was really removed. I would hope that if Vs. is made multi-platform at the 11th hour, that the PS3 version goes ahead without any changes since it has been in development for quite awhile (hasn't it?).
